It’s a little way off and we all want to enjoy what summer still has in store for us, but it’s a date you can add to your diaries. As it’s another time when all our MINE church friends get together we are hoping to make it a little social
event. With that in mind we are asking that we have a bring and share lunch and again more details will follow nearer the time.

Lydia and new addition to her family
Our congratulation to all from everyone at St Martin’s Church. There’s a full list of those ordained in The Link magazine and this was the caption for Lydia:
Lydia Padfield
Brought up in a vicarage, even as a young child, Lydia had a strong sense that she would also be called to ordained ministry. After studying at Cranmer Hall, she is excited to serve her curacy at St Oswald’s Walkergate and St Martin’s Byker. “I can’t remember a time when I didn’t feel some sense of a call to ordained ministry”, she said.

Fabulous Anniversary Events
All the hard work Suzanne and her amazing team put in to the celebrations to mark the 20th anniversary of St Martin’s Centre were a huge success. We thank them all for all their efforts which culminated in various event days over the last 2 weeks. The Centre members and Tea Club were treat with afternoon tea with entertainment from Jay Carter and Baldy Holly respectively and by all accounts a great time had by all.
On Saturday 11th those from St Martin’s Church who were able to attend enjoyed catching up with some old friends from the past. Along with other specially invited guests they were welcomed by a lovely service of thanks from Rev’d Tim with music once again from Andrew and St Martin’s Choir. It was then into the garden for drinks food and more entertainment. The weather was extremely kind for all the anniversary events. Suzanne and her team and the wonderful volunteers had there own night out bowling to celebrate their hard work and was much deserved.
